R&D Electrical Engineer
About us
As an early-stage start-up, INTECT develops cutting-edge sensing devices and software that give large structures (buildings, bridges, car parks, harbours, data centers, industrial complexes, …) a voice. Our systems combine market-leading technology (ultra-low power controllers and transducers) with our in-house sensing interface, sensor packaging and software.
Our R&D team already consists of a civil, a mechanical and a chemical engineer. To take our approach to the next level we want to expand this team with a driven and talented electrical engineer.
Your mission
Take charge of the electrical design, prototyping and industrialization of our sensing devices. Shape our multidisciplinary designs using the best technology and production workflows available – or develop proprietary technology to extend our competitive advantage.
Your tasks & responsibilities
Electronics design
Use best-in-class tools and our fast-prototyping supply chains for PCB production and assembly to develop, iterate and industrialize new designs quickly.
RF & ADC component selection and validation
Benchmark SMD components – specifically analog-to-digital front ends for sensors, energy harvesting, low-power microcontrollers and RF components (LPWAN, LTE, LP Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, NTN) – to identify best-fit technologies and best-in-class components.
Optimization and validation of signal processing chains
Optimize the analog-to-digital (ADC) and digital-to-analog (DAC) signal chains of our electronics. Define calibration, validation and qualification workflows (e.g. RED testing).
Proprietary component development
Propose ideas and designs for ICs and proprietary components that are not available on the market. Together with the founders, establish relationships with IC services and prototyping facilities (e.g. FIRST, EuroCDP).
Firmware development
Develop low-power firmware that processes sensor signals and optimizes sleep/wake cycles as well as the RF front end. Improve our git-based firmware and software versioning and automate the production workflow for firmware deployment and updates in the field (FOTA).
Your qualifications
- MSc or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering & Information Technology, Micro & Nanosystems, related fields – or similar experience.
- Experience in system and PCB prototyping, firmware development (C), and RF / transducer signal chains is desired.
- Confident use of state-of-the-art development, simulation and production tools.
- Driven, pragmatic, collaborative and open-minded.
- Fluent in German and/or English.
